Jakub comes from Poland and has just joined Miba Battery Systems as Head of the Miba Engineering Centre Poland. As a battery expert with over 15 years of experience in the battery industry, he was responsible for the development of the world's first off-road motorcycle batteries, followed by Europe's first electric bus batteries.
Together with the best battery engineers, Jakub is now setting up anengineering centre to support our team in Austria, the USA and China.
Can you briefly describe the goals of the Miba Engineering Center Warsaw?
The Miba Engineering Center will have its core competence in the development of motorcycle and off-highway batteries, but it will also be responsible for supporting development processes in general and will bring with it many years of experience in series development.
Why do you think is Warsaw the right place for Miba Battery Systems to drive innovation in battery technology?
Warsaw is a very good place to develop battery packs. There are battery companies that have been bringing battery innovations to the market for more than 20 years. Poland has automotive development centres, certified test labs and test institutes, it's focused on research and development as a country and it's just very well connected to the rest of the world.
What are your ambitions for Miba Battery Systems?
My ambition for Miba Battery Systems is to take my best experience and knowledge, all the lessons I have learned, and put them into new innovations, processes and products to accelerate growth. With the Miba Engineering Centre in Poland and Miba Battery Systems in Austria, we will be the most innovative supplier of liquid-cooled motorcycle batteries - that is for sure, but we will do much more for a cleaner planet.
